I am close to completing my first year as a student at Tufts University, where I'm studying Economics and International Relations, with aspirations of a future career at in business and law. I have long been captivated by the intricacies of politics and law, and this fascination has only grown stronger through my academic pursuits. Growing up between Manhattan and rural Montana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and a genuine passion for learning about and engaging with people, cultures, and the world at large. My studies thus far have equipped me with a solid foundation in critical thinking strategies, situation analysis, and project management skills. I continue to learn and look forward to situations and experiences that move beyond theory and demonstrate the dynamics and impact of real-world social and political interactions on human behavior and experience
With years of hands-on and real-life employment experience, I have developed a strong work ethic and an ability to thrive in new and challenging environments. Throughout my journey, both work and extracurricular pursuits, I have had the chance to collaborate with diverse teams and crews, an experience I deeply appreciate for the valuable insights and skills it has imparted. During my first year participating in Tufts Mock Trial, I successfully competed with our team, working cooperatively, reading and analyzing simulated legal documents, preparing persuasive statements, integrating information from different resources, creating and delivering oral presentations, and enhancing my higher-level-thinking skills. As a self-motivated individual with an innate passion for learning, I am always eager to take on new challenges and expand my skills and knowledge. I am excited about the prospect of securing a summer internship or work opportunity that will allow me to make meaningful contributions to the organization and foster my professional growth and enhance my skill set.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have gained valuable expertise through mentorship, both as a mentee and a mentor. As a student mentor, I provided academic, personal, and professional help to others and served as a source of support when my kids needed it most. My work experiences, from dishwashing in a fast-paced kitchen crew to landscaping during one of Montana's hottest summers, have equipped me with a strong work ethic, discipline, and a deep understanding of manual labor, project management, and teamwork. These roles have taught me technical skills such as digging trenches, laying irrigation, and installing plants and fostered meaningful connections and memorable experiences. Moreover, my tenure as a student council president and positions in leadership of various school organizations has honed my transferable skills, including communication, collaboration, adaptability, critical thinking, problem-solving, project management, leadership, risk-taking, and creativity. These experiences have molded me into a kind, empathetic, and action-oriented person and professional, ready to apply my expertise to excel in any setting and contribute positively to my community.
